Missouri is home to long, unbroken stretches of old Route 66. Here all but 16 miles of unavoidable interstate can be traveled. Route 66 takes you through the city of St. Louis and into the famous Ozark mountains, known throughout the country for their beauty and folklore. Following the Ozarks, Route 66 deposits the traveler in Kansas, the beginning of the Great Plains, home to Route 66's flat dash across America's middle lands.
